Suggested edit: Herman Eugene Goroum, 79, of Wheaton, MD passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016. He served as a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Marine Corps and was part of the crew for General Eisenhower (and Mamie).

Herman was the son of the late Floyd Trammell and Evelyn Goroum. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Nealis Goroum, as well as a son, Richard R. Leslie, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD. Also survived by two grandchildren, Canyon and Chase Leslie, a sister, Evelyn Perry of Frederick, MD, and a brother, Danny Trammell of Silver Spring, MD. Predeceased by a daughter, Renee Libutti.

Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 4pm to 6pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD 20882. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11:00am at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 17740 Muncaster Rd., Derwood, MD 20855, . Interment will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery (between 16601 and 16605 Briardale Rd., Derwood, MD 20855). Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
