Son of Benjamin Franklin and Rachel Harvey Kerr. Served in WWI from Louisiana, but most of his adult life was spent in Gary Indiana and Harlingen/Houston Texas. He married first wife Grace about 1923 in Chicago, where his son Bennie Harvey Kerr Jr was born. They lived in Gary Indiana, where Ben wore many hats and had many occupations, including serving as Postmaster in Gary, being elected to the state legislature, and owning a car dealership. He and Grace divorced in 1935, and it wasnt until 1944 that he married Caterina Picchiottino Gallinatti, a divorcee with one son. They moved about January 1948 to Harlingen Tx where Ben dealt in Real estate and orange groves. They moved to Houston about 1957. Ben's death certificate stated he had been living at the Christian Home for the Aged since Aug 1975, being treated for a fracture of the right hip. Cause of death was generalized arteriosclerosis. Kate was still listed as living.
