She was born November 16, 1931, in Manchester, Michigan, to Clarence George and Silena Myrle (Lemm) Heimerdinger, the fifth child of eight, and was a 1949 graduate of Clinton High School.
Evelyn was descended from William Brewster of the Mayflower ship.
On January 1, 1951, she married S. Harold Gregg, and he survives, having celebrated more than 67 years of marriage.
Evelyn was a member of Christ Episcopal Church since 1956, where she sang in the choir and was involved with Episcopal Church Women (E.C.W.)
She was a member of the Irish Hills Sweet Adelines from 1971 until 2005, and participated in three quartets.
Evelyn was a homemaker who was dedicated to her family. Her hobbies included singing, reading and doing crafts and puzzles.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she is survived by their children, Harold (Deb) Gregg and Darlene (Leonard) Hooker, both of Adrian; brother, David (Mary) Heimerdinger of Clinton; sister, Lois Richardson of Onsted; grandchildren, Luke (Rachael) Gregg and Lisa (Vincent) Williams; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Leah, Emma, Vincent Jr. and Jamari.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, George, Jim, Clarence Jr. and Bill Heimerdinger; and a sister, Ruth Ebach.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Wagley Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Boley officiating. Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
