COMER, James E. age 80 of Brookville passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Reid Hospital,Richmond surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 17, 1930 in Gordon,Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Simm V. and Zelma Comer, beloved wife Iona K. (Hissong) Comer, grandson Billy Comer, brother Roy Comer, sisters Wanneta Lock, Margaret Lock and Phyllis Hardy. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Howard and Shirley Comer-Brookville, Timothy and Diana Comer-Trotwood, Michael Comer-Middletown, daughter Wanda Shannon- Brookville, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brothers and sister-in-law Maurice and Janet Comer-Dayton, Dennis Comer-Englewood, sisters-in-law Pearl Hissong, Carol Ann Massie and Joy Lee Mayes and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a retired truck driver, member of Pyrmont United Methodist Church, Brookville and enjoyed woodcrafts, cooking, baking and gardening. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton, burial to follow at Abbottsville Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Hale-Sarver. If so desired, contributions may be made to Pyrmont United Methodist Church, 4690 Sulphur Springs Rd., Brookville, Ohio 45309.
