COMER, Iona K. Age 78 of Brookville, passed away Monday, August 11, 2008, at Harborside of New Lebanon. She was born February, 24, 1930, to Howard and Eva Hissong. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Sharon Jay, Charles Kenneth, Pauline & T. J. Hopper, William Lawson, Rodney & Elizabeth Hissong, and grandson Billy Comer. She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years James Comer- Brookville; sons & daughters-in-law Howard & Shirley-Brookville, Timothy & Diana- Brookville, and Michael- Brookville; daughter and son-in-law Wanda & Robert Shannon- Brookville; sisters Joy Lee Mayes and Carol Ann & Carl Massie; sister-in-law Pearl Hissong; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 15, at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St., West Milton. Pastor Andy Leighty will officiate with interment following at Abbotsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 PM Thursday at Hale-Sarver. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions be made to the lona Comer Memorial Fund.
