Services for Freddie O. Hays, 89, of Pittsburg will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Rice, Brother Kyle Smith and Brother Keith Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Mausoleum in Longview.

Mrs. Hays was born December 30, 1914, in Cleburne. She died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Homeplace Hospice in Tyler. She was retired and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harrison Broumley and Martha Ellen Doty Broumley; her husband, Vernon E. Hays, who died May 11, 2001; and two sons, Ivy Charles Sanders and Rodney Gene Sanders. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Peggy Sanders of Gilmer; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Thelma Venable of Weatherford, Lee May of Fort Worth, Bobby Broumley of Lancaster, California, and Martha Hendricks of Fort Worth; dear friends Eva Russel and Brother Larry and Linda Rice, all of Pittsburg; and many other special friends.

Pallbearers will be George French, Lin Aiter, Cary White, Joe White, Keith Blankenship and Don Mays.

Honorary pallbearers are Ed Russell, Allan Griffis, Sonny Smith and Doyle Copeland.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the funeral home.
