Sherwood Henry Essex, 68, of Jacksonville died at 2:45 a.m Tuesday in a Jacksonville hospital after a sudden illness. The funeral will be Thursday in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Essex had lived in Jacksonville two years. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Baptist church and a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his widow,
Mrs. Anna Mae Essex, Jacksonville,
four sons ;

LEONARD J., all of Jacksonville,
and JOHN R. Essex;

JACKSONVILLE, TEXAS---- Services for Anna M. Essex, 86, of Jacksonville, formerly of Davenport and Muscatine, Iowa, will be held today at Jarratt Cemetery.
Mrs. Essex died Wednesday at Mesquite Hospital. Boren-Conner Funeral Homes, Jacksonville, is in charge of arrangements.
Anna Mae Bennett was married to Sherwood Essex for more than 50 years. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene (Mrs. John) White, sons Sherwood C. Jacksonville, and Robert J. and Leonard, both of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several great-graet-grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Margaret Anderson, Davenport.
Mrs. Essex also was preceded in death by a son John.
