Charles Julius Socin, 93, of Escondido died Wednesday. He was born in Playa del Rey and was employed in grocery retail. He was a member of Escondido Elks Lodge No. 1687.
Survivors include his sons, Charles "Chuck" Socin of Escondido, Albert D. Socin of Santa Ysabel and Robert Socin of Escondido; sister, Madeline Hauge of San Fernando Valley; brother, Albert Gier Socin of Escondido; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with rosary from 6 to 7 p.m., Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Chapel, 225 S. Broadway, Escondido.
Mass: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, 130 E. 13th Ave., Escondido.
Interment: Oakhill Memorial Park, Escondido.
