2 BASTROP MEN ENLIST IN NAVY SEABEES THIS WEEK
Mr. Lester Lee Clark and Mr. John Wesley Robinson became interested in the Navy's Construction Battalion -- the Seabees. They contacted Chief Allen, from the Monroe Navy Recruiting Station on his weekly visit to Bastrop, and, after talking with him, decided to come on in with him to be transferred for an interview with the Construction Engineer. The Engineer was satisfied that both these men were skilled and Mr. Robinson is now head hatch checker and Mr. Clark is a First Class Fireman. These men will leave for their training within the next few weeks.
