Stanley P. Ackerson, age 89, formerly of Addison, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY. Stan was born in Addison, NY on February 13, 1922. He was the son of Beldon and Cecile Gardner Ackerson. He is predeceased by his wife, Eloise (Nov. 2007) and his parents, Beldon and Cecile. He is survived by his two daughters, Pamela (Mark) Morrell of Horseheads and Paula (Alan) Kring of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; and grandchildren, Kristin (Ron) Shoemaker, Cory Morrell, Tyler Corcoran, Alaina Kring; and many sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 7th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. Tuscarora-Woodhull Chapter 273 Order of Eastern Star will make a visitation at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral will be Thursday, September 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sandra Olmstead officiating. Burial will be in Addison Rural Cemetery, Addison. Memorial donations in Stanley's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
