Betty K. Canter, 68, of Oak Hill, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at a Jackson hospital. She was born April 12, 1935, to the late Robert "Bob" and Evelyn Belcher McKenzie. She was also preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include sons, Calvin, Jay, Freddie "Mutt" Canter; daughters, Pat Hamad, Vivian Queen and Renee Queen; sisters, Louise Burchett, Ruby Miller, Carol Adkins, Shirley Simpson; brothers, Luther, Larry, Danny McKenzie; 16 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryon Carmon officiating and interment in Monroe Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
