"Passing of Mrs. Elizabeth Demaree
Death Due to Old Age
Sitting in her favorite chair, her eye closed as if in sleep, her hands folded on her lap, venerable Mrs. Elizabeth Demaree of No.617 Broadway, yesterday afternoon received the silent messenger that bore her spirit to its eternal rest.
The precise time of her death will never be known, as she was alone in her house at the time, she preferring to live that way, although visited daily by her daughter, Mrs. Viola Bimson of 611 Broadway, the wife of William H. Bimson, the plumber...
Mrs. Demaree was about 87 years of age. She was born in Fair Haven, N. J. and had lived in Quincy about sixty years. Her father was a native of Holland."
(The Quincy Daily Journal - Friday, January 17, 1902)

Portion of a letter her niece Margaret Elizabeth Hendrickson Sands wrote to Robert Anderson Snyder 27 March 1892)
"I received a letter from Aunt Elizabeth a short time ago they are all broke up she lost her youngest girl the last day of last year and its almost killed Aunt she only had two children and Uncle died 4 years ago this month."
