She was born on Bunner Ridge on June 21, 1934, a daughter of the late William "Willie" and Mary Ruth Fletcher Keener.
Myrtle was a homemaker and a mother. She graduated from East Fairmont High School. Myrtle was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her pets. She enjoyed reading magazines, watching TV, shopping on QVC and tending to her flowers. She was a very talented artist who produced many beautiful drawings.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Lee Sloan; her daughters, Pamela M. Sloan of Fairmont and Crystal L. Sloan of Fairmont; a son of her heart, Jim Moore of Fairmont; her brother, Ronald E. Keener and his wife Andrea of Massillon, Ohio; her sister Rosaleen Heil of Wheeling; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats Smokey, Boo and Tabbers.
Since Myrtle's passing in 2009, her beloved husband, Charles Lee Sloan, passed away on Feb. 21, 2012. Her sisters Mary McCourt of Morgantown, Nelda Rush of Fairmont and Wannalee Vandergrift of Fairmont have also passed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Lucille Harbert and Kathern Kadell Keener, who died in infancy; her brothers, William Clifton Keener and Conley Keener, both in infancy, and Owen Eugene Keener; and her brothers-in-law, Eli J. "Steve" Harbert, Otha McCourt, Delbert Rush, Denzil Vendergrift and Jack Heil.
Interment was in Grandview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Fairmont.
