Missouri State Militia Cavalry,during the Civil War. He married Frances Williams daughter of David and Nancy Williams in Putnam Co., Mo. in 1867. He was the father of David, Asa, Ira, Bertha, Elihu, James, and William. His was one of hundreds of families that migrated after the Civil War to Texas and then to Oklahoma where they settled.
