Visitation will precede the service at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a reception will follow at the church. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Mrs. Stodghill was born on June 30, 1936 in Mansfield, La and died on February 11, 2012 in Monroe. She taught elementary school briefly after graduating from Louisiana State University in 1957 and was married to T. W. Stodghill, Jr on June 22 of the same year. She became a homemaker and stay-at-home mother at the birth of her children. She returned to teaching in 1987 as an elementary school teacher and ending her teaching career in Instructional Technology with the Monroe City School System, retiring in 2007.
Mrs. Stodghill was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Harlow Durr, her mother, Evelyn Corinne Parker Durr, a brother, Thomas Anthony Durr and her sister, Judy Durr Blackmon.
She is survived by her brother, Jim H. Durr, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, her husband, T. W. Stodghill, Jr. of Monroe, her son and daughter in law, The Very Rev'd T. Whitfield Stodghill, III and The Rev'd Dawnell S. Stodghill of Monroe, her daughter and son in law, Stephanie S. Carwile and Guy W. Carwile of Ruston and grandchildren Mary Taylor Carwile, Sarah Parker Carwile, Tracy Ruth Stodghill and Thomas W. Stodghill, IV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 3706 Bon Aire Drive, Monroe, Louisiana 71203
