Irene M. Beran, age 88, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 11, 1923 at Victoria, Kansas the daughter of Wendelin and Pauline (Dreiling) Dinkel.
Irene was an Odin resident since 1948 coming from Victoria. She moved to Great Bend in 2005. Irene was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Altar Society and EHU all of Odin.
On June 16, 1948 she married August V. Beran at Victoria. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1966.
Survivors include one son, Ken Beran and wife Barbara of Hays, Kansas; two daughters, Karen Reif and husband Gary, Donita Wolf and husband Greg all of Great Bend; one brother, Alvin F. Dinkel of Victoria, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Laura Weber, Lisa Hays, Tammy Lichter, Amy Brune, Kristi Ingalls, Ryan Wolf and Ian Wolf and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wilmer Dinkel and grandson David Reif.
Mass of christian burial will be held 10:30 am Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Father Charles Mazouch as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Friends may call Wendesday, February 15, 2012 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm, with a vigil service starting at 7:00 pm followed by an Altar Society rosary at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington.
