Bill (38) was a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic with Anderson Twp. Fire Dept. in Cincinnati, OH. On Thursday, March 8th, Bill was working as a part-time member of the Miami Township F.D. in western Hamilton County. The department responded to a call of a structure fire on Jordan Road. When they arrived on the scene a neighbor advised them of an invalid resident that was probably trapped inside. Bill was making his third attempt to search the residence when the floor gave way and Bill fell through to the basement. When Bill was not accounted for he was quickly located and removed from the building with third degree burns over half of his body. He was flown to University Hospital where Bill died from his injuries twelve days later.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria, and two daughters, Maryssa, 8, and Michaela, 4.

The history of America's fire service has consistently shown that our firefighters display an unselfish and heroic determination to rescue their neighbors' life and property. Firefighter Bill "Doc" Ellison upheld this tradition everyday however he made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He is truly one of "America's Bravest".
