Helena C Blattner, daughter of the late Henry and Wilhelmina Schmitt Diekroeger was born on a farm near Boonslick Road in near Wright City September 1, 1862. On April 26, 1883 she was united in marriage with Louis H Blattner, they being the first couple married in the Evangelical Church in Wright City. Their entire married lives were spent in Wright City. Two children were born, Mabel, Mrs Fred J Lohman of Warrenton and a son who died in infancy. After her husband's death in 1930 she continued to maintain her home in Wright City and in 1942 moved to live with her daughter and son-in-law where she spent the remainder of her life. She died there 17 January 1963 at the age of 100 years, 4 months, and 16 days. She was a member of the Wright City Christian Church for many years. She is survived by her daughter Mabel, Mrs Fred J Lohman of Warrenton, her son-in-law Fred J Lohman of Warrenton, three grandchildren, Helen Marie Lohman, now Mrs RM Engel of Kirkwood, John F Lohman of Warrenton and Louis H Lohman of Berkeley, west, Virginia, 1 sister, Lillian, Mrs George Boehmer and 1 brother, Henry Diekroeger, both of Wright City.
