Father Orville Lester Holt. Mother: Theresa Anderton. Rose contracted polio at about age four. Then she suffered a stroke which left her left side impaired and she was mentally impaired all her life. She lived with her father Orville Holt and his second wife Eunice until about age 14 when her mother Theresa took custody of Rose. Rose lived with her mother in Stockton, California until the death of her mother sometime around 1980, at which time Rose became a ward of the state and spent the rest of her life in a group home for impaired adults in Stockton. She remained close to her Stockton family until she developed serious problems with congestive heart failure. Rose's condition deteriorated until 2007 when she passed away in Stockton. Rose Ann loved Orville and Eunice very much and did visit them many times over the years, until Orville passed in 1987. Rose was able to visit Eunice before Eunice's death in 1998. Rose died with loved ones at her side, her sister Violet, her brother in law Darrell and her sister Pamela. Rose was a cherished member of our family and we mourn her still. Rose was buried in the same cemetery as her biological mother. Rose would have liked that. (By Violet Holt Daraitis).
