Dorothy Ellen (Wolffarth) Abbott (formerly of Lubbock) passed away at her home in Salida, CO on March 18, 2010. She was born in Lubbock on April 1, 1914, to George C. and Lottie (Hunt) Wolffarth. She and her twin brother Donal were the youngest of nine children born to the Wolffarths.

Dorothy married W.B. Abbott, Jr., on October 3, 1933. He passed away in 1994. Dorothy is survived by their three children, Kenneth Abbott and wife Suzanne of Roaring Springs, TX, Nancy Loveless and husband Kim of Kansas City, MO, and Carolyn Abbott of Twin Lakes, CO. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Dena Gillis, Tracy Smith, Kurt Loveless, and Kris Loveless, and by 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, her brothers and sisters, and her parents.

Dorothy was member of the Methodist Church and of the Daughters of the Pioneers in Lubbock. She was accomplished at needlepoint, knitting, quilting and other forms of handwork. Dorothy graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech.

Graveside services will be at the City of Lubbock Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2010 with Reverend Bill Manney officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home
