The automobile was driven by William Goodwin, Jr., 18, of Marblehead and was owned by Thomas McNulty, theater owner, whose son, Robert, 17, was riding with Goodwin. Also in the car were Fred Elssen, 18, of Green street, John Cannon, 18, of Lafayette street, and two girls, Lulu Stastanopoulos and Lillian Winer, both of Salem.
Adams had been driven home by Robert Martin and had just stepped from the car on the street side when he was hit. Goodwin said he had been blinded by the glare of Martin's headlight and had not seen the man.
