Felix was one of the 17 surviving children of the Mountain Meadows Massacre in UT, 9/11/1857. He was the son of John and Eloah Tackitt Jones, who were slain in the massacre along with 118 other brave souls on the Fancher-Baker wagon train on their way from AR to CA. He was taken in and raised by Francis and Eliza Rowan in Boone Co., AR, when he was returned from UT as 3 year old. He moved to TX before 1880 and married and raised his family in Coryell Co., TX.
