Dorothy (Steiner) Hetherington, 76 of Johnson City, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon December 29, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard K. Hetherington. She is survived by her children, Deborah Pritchard (Dave Wilkins), Arkport, NY, Michael Dwyer (Susanne), Endwell, Cindy Jones (Thomas Walsh), Binghamton, Richard Hetherington (Denise), Cicero, NY; her loving grandchildren, Brian and Kara Pritchard, Stephen and Phillip Jones, Geoffrey and Stephanie Hetherington, Alyona Dwyer; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved feline companion, Katey. Dorothy was an avid traveller and enjoyed her biweekly get togethers with the girls from the Y.
Funeral services will be held at the J. F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main Street, Johnson City Monday at 11 a.m. The Reverend Elvin S. Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. At Dorothy's request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions to Lourdes Hospice or the American Cancer Society in Dorothy Hetherington's memory.
