Frank Burwell Crayne, 70 years of Jefferson R. D. 1, died Monday, February 4, 1957, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He was a son of Thomas C. and Harriett Burwell Crayne, and was born October 4, 1886, in Jefferson Township. He was a graduate of King's School of Oratory in Pittsburgh, Oberlin Academy and Oberlin College. Mr. Crayne had been on the legitimate stage in New York and had also played in silent moving pictures. About 20 years ago he returned to Greene County and resided at the family farm. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Pearl C. Stillwell of Waynesburg R. D. 1; and the following nieces and nephews: Paul C. Stillwell of Detroit, Mich.; Robert A. Stillwell of Jefferson; Mrs. Jean S. Kozarra and Miss Lena Stillwell, both of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Martha Dulaney of Waynesburg; Willis F. Stillwell of Weirton, W. Va.; Mrs. Francine Church of Waynesburg R. D. 1, and Charlene Yanek of Clarksville. Also surviving are two great nieces and seven great-nephews. One niece and two brothers are deceased. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the John Lucas Funeral Home, Jefferson, conducted by Rev. Fred R. Park. Interment in Smith Cemetery.
