In 1780 Sarah married Jonathan Hoag who had moved to the area in 1773.
They had eight children:
Marvel Hoag Buel
1781 – 1851
Abraham Hoag
1783 – 1852
Isaac Hoag
1784 – 1859
Jacob Hoag
1787 – 1850
Anna Hoag Haviland
1789 – 1831
Comfort Hoag Devol
1792 – 1866
Robert Nesbit Hoag
1795 – 1877
Ira Hoag
1798 – 1873
It is strongly presumed that Jonathan and Sarah are buried in this Friends Burial Ground as they were instrumental in its beginnings. Gravestone markers were thought a vanity to Quakers, so no markers are found among the earlier Quaker members here.
