Anna Hunt was the daughter of Thomas Hunt and Elizabeth Stanyan of Essex, Massachusetts.
In 1745 she married Stephen Hoag in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The Boston Evening Transcript 13-Jul-1933, states she was a Quaker Minister. Stephen and Anna migrated from the Oblong in Dutchess County, NY, along with other Hoag relatives in approximately the 1770's to settle in White Creek area.
They had nine children born in the Oblong area of Dutchess County, NY:
Elizabeth Hoag Hoag 1746 – 1837
Lydia Hoag Hoag 1748 – 1849
Stephen Hoag Jr. 1751 – 1817
Jonathan Hoag 1754 – 1817
Ruth Hoag Bowen 1756 – 1811
Abraham Hoag 1759 – 1818
Sylvanus Hoag 1760 –
Mary Hoag 1761 –
Rebecca Hoag Soule 1762 – 1844
It is presumed they were buried in the Friends Burial Ground here along with other relatives, as Quaker records indicate their participation in the fellowship here. Early burials here had no markers per Quaker custom, perhaps only a rock marked the grave.
