The following obituary appeared in the December 3, 1920 issue of the La Salle
Daily Post Tribune:
YOUNG PERU WOMAN DIES AT HOSPITAL AFTER OPERATION---
Mrs. Samuel Edwards, nee Elizabeth Ellerbrock, passed away at St. Mary's
Hospital last evening at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Edwards was confined to the hospital for
the past week and yesterday underwent an operation. Her many friends will learn
of her death with great sorrow.
Deceased was born in Peru, August 26, 1894, and was educated in St. Joseph's
parochial school. July 7, 1920, she was united in marriage with Sam Edwards, of
Troy, who survives with her mother and nine brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the home to St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
