Maria Juana de Jesus Bojorques, the daughter of Juan Bojorques and Maria Ysidora Galindo was born in California under the Mexican flag. She was baptized at Mission Santa Clara and was married there to Jose Antonio Maria Castro on 17 Feb 1848, barely two weeks after the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, giving California to the US.

Juana and Jose Antonio had 6 children before Jose Antonio Maria's early and sudden death.

Juana married Jesus Palomares (y Buelna) on 13 Dec 1857 in Watsonville, CA and had two more children both baptized at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Watsonville.

Their children were:
Maria Quirina Buelna, baptized as Maria Quirina Julia Buelna.
Francisco Palomares, baptized with his mother's surname of Bojorques.

After the death or disappearance of her husband Juana married again but the marriage record to her third husband, Manuel Enriques has not yet been found.

Juana and Manuel had 8 children, all born and baptized in Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, CA before 1874. In 1874 Juana's entire family, along with many other Hispanic and Native American families moved to Las Juntas near Firebaugh, Fresno County, CA. A year or so later Juana's family moved to Firebaugh where so many of her descendants currently live.

Juana died at her home in Firebaugh, Fresno County, CA.
