David E. Miller, 90, of RR 1, Browning, passed away at 7:36 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, IL.
He was born Sept. 7, 1921, at home near Bader, Ill., a son of William A. and Mary A. (Beeghley) Miller. On Feb. 21, 1942, David married Edna M. Bollinger in Browning, Ill. They would have been married 70 years this Tuesday, Feb. 21. Edna survives.
Also surviving are his son, Roger L. (Billie) Logan Miller of Polk City, Iowa; two daughters, Kathleen S. (Ron) Schoenfelder of Bradenton, Fla., and Sally Jo Davis of East Peoria, Ill.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, whom he enjoyed very much; and his sister, Susie Lind of Bloomington, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Joseph; his brother, Andrew E. Miller; his sister-in-law, Mildred Miller; his brother-in-law, Donald Lind; and his son-in-law, Cecil Davis.
David and Edna lived and worked all their married life on the same farm, near Bader, Ill. In later years, David spent much time outdoors, tending to the garden, yard and orchard. He derived much satisfaction from helping others and he will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
In August 1979, he became a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Mud Valley District and greatly enjoyed the special meetings held at the church.
Interment will be in the Mud Valley Cemetery.
