He contributed four decades of folk, jazz and blues music and was the defining influence to such performer/songwriters as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Judy Collins & Peter, Paul and Mary. He was a constant presence in the Greenwich Village scene and a regular at the Newport Folk Festival.
