Betty Jo Moore Atkins, 78, Franklin, Tennessee, died at her residence Friday, April 3, 2009 following an extended illness.

The funeral was at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN with Andy Baker and Hugh Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, in Bumpus Mills.

Betty was born July 17, 1930 in Bumpus Mills, TN. She was married to William E. Atkins and was blessed to recently celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary together.

She devoted her life to her family in Ypsilanti, MI, retiring in Clarksville, TN and most recently residing in Franklin, TN. Mrs. Atkins was a member of Berry's Chapel Church of Christ in Franklin.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Banner Moore, Mannie Hunter Moore, Joseph Marion Williams, and Mattie Jane Hargis Williams, her parents, Aubrey and Vergie Moore, and a son, James Lee Atkins.

She is survived by her husband, her sons, Joe (Rita) Atkins, and Jon (Christie) Atkins, and grandchildren, Will (Mandii) Maggie, Ben, Douglas, and Leslie Atkins. Pallbearers will be Greg Cathey, Scott Perry, Scott Atkins, Orvie Cotton, George Atkins, and Hugh Atkins.
