She married Ray Walter Laakso 5 April 1950 in Duluth MN and celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to his death. A graduate of Waino HS and the Minneapolis Business College, she enlisted in the Women's Army Air Corp and was honorably discharged.
She completed secretarial work, was a homemaker, and worked on the family farm that she and her husband built. Active in the PTA and as a 4H Leader when her children were young, Agnes enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and sewing during her early retirement years, and books on tape after developing Macular Degeneration. She had a fond appreciation for nature and the environment, expressing this through her planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers. A life-long learner, she enjoyed music throughout her entire life. Agnes also enjoyed speaking, reading, and writing the Finnish language and maintaining family ties with relatives in Europe.
Survived by 2 sons: Steven+Eunice-Oulu, Gordon+Mary-Superior; daughter Renita Laakso+Ron Petite-Oulu; 7 grandchildren: Lisa+Scott Weiss, Rebecca+Adam Landwehr, Ray E. Laakso, Dianna+Paul Raunio, Jennifer Laakso+John Larson, Lucas+Krista Laakso, Clarissa+Michael Mireau; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Aunie Maki-Esko MN; several nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by infant son Loren Ray Laakso; 2 sisters: Martha Hemmingson, Mildred Perala; 2 brothers: Melvin Johnson, Lester Johnson.

Pastor Greg Gullicksrud officiant. Burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery-Oulu. Honorary pallbearers for the service were her 7 grandchildren: Lisa, Ray, Becky, Diana, Jenny, Lucas, and Claire.
