Robert had lived in Scio,(Allegany County) NY and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Barnes in Portville after a short illness. He came to this area as a young man and was employed in lumbering and other jobs for the past 65 years. He married Hattie Swarts of Olean in June of 1892(?) and she passed away in Sept. of 1910. Surviving him at the time of his death were 4 daughters, Mrs. Elnora McDonald, Olean, Mrs. Frank Barnes, Portville, Mrs. Laura Carlise, Los Angeles, CA., Mrs. Harry Stonham(?), Scio, NY., with whom he had made his home for the past 9 years, also 2 brothers, Jesse M. Carr, Portland, OR., Elbert W. Carr, St. Regis, MT, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Barnes home on March 8, 1934.
