Mary C. Warner, 85, of Ventura, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Warner was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Pasadena, Calif. She had lived and raised her family in La Jolla, moved to Big Bear Lake for several years before retiring in Santa Barbara. She moved to Ventura two years ago to be near her son Geoffrey. Mrs. Warner was devoted to her Catholic faith and had been a teacher's aide retiring in 1993.

During her life Mary had enjoyed snow skiing and travel. She loved music, singing in the Rancho Santa Barbara choir and playing the piano, but above all, her life was devoted to being an exceptional wife and mother.

Mary is survived by her brother, Ralph Corbin of Whidbey Island, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Geoffrey and Darlene Warner of Ventura; daughter, Jan Warner of Big Bear Lake; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Warner of San Diego; granddaughter, Jessica Grant and her husband, Matt of New Orleans, La.; grandson, Greg Warner and his wife Ashley of Ventura; grandsons, Larry Warner and Jeremy Warner, both of Ventura.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Warner.

Services will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, with Deacon Ed Mills from Our Lady of the Assumption Church officiating. Private family burial will take place Sunday, Feb. 19, at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
