She was born September 15th, 1938 to Albert Dave Lemons and Iretta Mae Samples. She was a retired Seamstress and sold Avon. Mrs. Loman attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday February 20th, 2012 after 6 p.m. at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home, Sesser. Funeral services are Tuesday February 21st, 2012, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Brother Cody Christianson and Pastor Randy Kash officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.

SESSER - Marlene VanHoorebeke Loman, 73, died Friday, Feb. 7, (sic.) 2012, in Marshall Browning Hospital Emergency Room in Du Quoin. She was a retired seamstress and sold Avon. Marlene was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was born Sept. 15, 1938, to Albert Dave Lemons and Iretta Mae Samples. She married William Loman on Nov. 1, 2002, and he survives of Sesser. Survivors include children, Larry VanHoorebeke of Clintwood, Va., Donna Preboy of Coello, Sandra Kirkpatrick of Carbondale, Randy VanHoorebeke of Herrin and David VanHoorebeke of Carbondale; stepchildren, Jim and Rhonda Bullington of Mount Vernon, Gene and Kathy Jones of Bluford, Jeff and Jan Loman of Hollister, Mo., Toby and Peggy York of Mount Vernon, Steve and Paula Loman of Mount Vernon and David Loman of Waltonville; 13 grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 21 stepgreat-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Jerral Lemons, Garold Lemons, Ray Lemons, Alberta Lemons and Debbie (Lemons) Loman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three half brothers, Junior Stenson, Bobby Stenson and Bill Stenson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with Brother Cody Christianson and Pastor Randy Kash officiating. Alvena Marlene Lemons Van Hoorebeke Loman passed away at 8:17 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Marshall Browning Hospital. Death was due to complications of a stroke she had May 2, 2011. In loving memory of a wife and mother, this woman struggled through so much in this life and still held her family together. She loved all of her family with everything she had in her heart. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Dave Lemons; mother, Iretta Mae Samples Lemons; three half brothers, Junior Stinson, Bobby Stinson and William Stinson; and little baby sister, Vicky. Survivors include her husband, William Loman; brothers, Jerrel Lemons, Garrold Lemons and Ray Lemons; sisters, Alberta Lemons McCollum and Debbie Lemons Jones; children, Larry Van Hoorebeke, Donna Preboy, Sandra Kirkpatrick, Randy Van Hoorebeke and David Van Hoorebeke; grandchildren, Valerie Baker, Stacy Meadows,
Billy Van Hoorebeke, Joshua Kirkpatrick, Timothy Baker, Angela Kirkpatrick, Josh Van Hoorebeke, Vanessa Barren, Victoria Mayer, Amanda Van Hoorebeke, Donald Van Hoorebeke, Cody Van Hoorebeke and David M. Van Hoorebeke; great-grandchildren, Samual Baker, Caleb Baker (so close to her heart), Shyla Smith, Caleb Daugherty, Taylor Baker, Dani Jo Baker, Lilly Silich, Macy Mayer, Adam Silich, Logan Van Hoorebeke and Ryder Mayer. Also surviving are stepchildren, Rhonda Bullinton, Kathy Jones, Jeff Loman,
Steve Loman and David Loman; stepgrandchildren, Chrissy, Billy, Michelle, Jamie, Carrie, Jeffery, Sarah, Curtis, Jeremy, Cody, Jason and Jessi; 21 great-stepgrandchildren; and last, but never least, so many nephews, nieces and
cousins. This wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and cousin will be missed forever. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation was Monday evening at the funeral home.
