Jackie L. Nace, 79, of York, died Friday, February 17, 2012, at his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Anna Mary E. (Stine) Nace, with whom he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 21, 2011.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Friedensaal Lutheran Church, 9138 White Church Road, Seven Valleys, with his pastor, the Rev. Margareta M. Breden, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Nace was born on October 12, 1932, in Spring Grove, a son of the late Ervin W. Sr. and Edna R. (Waltimyer) Nace.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a Title Search Manager with Professional Real Estate in York for many years, and prior to that with Hoffmeyer and Semmelman Law Firm in York and at York County Court House in the Map Office. He also worked at the former Ammon R. Smith Chevrolet as a mechanic and farmed in North Codorus Township. He ran for the office of York County Recorder of Deeds in 1985. Mr. Nace was a member of Friedensaal Lutheran Church, where he served on various committees of the church. He was a member of Western Democratic Club, and the DESA in Huntington County, where he had lived for six years before returning to York last year.

A devoted husband, father, and Pappy, he also leaves two daughters, Sharon L. Slagel and her husband, Michael of Spring Grove, and Sherrill L. Nardontonia and her husband, David of York; four sons, James E. Nace and his wife, Tina, and Samuel E. Nace and his wife, Connie, all of Red Lion, Jere L. Nace of Stoverstown, and Timothy A. Nace and his wife, Shari of York; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandson; three sisters, Madelyn Alwine of York, Dolores Kraft of Hanover, and Darlene Rohrbaugh of Spring Grove; and a brother, Ervin Nace, Jr. of Wellsville.
