Effie Belle Samples, 62, died Monday at 3 a.m., at her home in Alexander after a long illness.
A daughter of Slaven and Ellen Hunt Buchanan, she was born in Upshur County July 27, 1883.
She is survived by her husband, James A. Samples, and 11 children: Mrs. Eula Channel, Mrs. Lydia Coe, Miss ( Mr.) Garnet Samples, Miss Maxine Samples, Jay Samples, Bryan Samples, Haul Samples, Eli Samples, all of Alexander; Marion Samples, of Arlington; Mrs. Geneva Dupont,of Hyattsville, Md., and Mrs. Adele Harman of Loudonville, Ohio. Also surviving are one brother, Clark Buchanan, of Replete; and one sister, Mrs. Laura Fisher, of Arlington, and 12 grandchildren.
As the news goes to press, funeral arrangements that will be handled by the Simons Funeral Home, are incomplete.
