Rites Monday Afternoon For Mrs. Emma Doner
Funeral services were held in the Baptist church Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. M. H. Knobloch for Mrs. Emma Doner, whose death occurred at Wayne on February 4. She would have been 85 years old on February 17. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
Emma Learned Doner was born in Ohio on February 17, 1858. She was united in marriage to David Doner on October 2, 1879, in Kay county, Indiana. The couple came to Nebraska in 1884, where they lived out their lives.
Two children were born to this couple, a son, William; and a daughter, Lenna Gusner, who died in 1930.
Besides the son, William, Mrs. Doner is survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emily Peacock of Porterville, Calif.
In earlier years she united with the Methodist church in Arcadia and later with the Methodist church here.
