Michael Joseph Burke, 88, 204 North Third Street, East Gadsden, died yesterday at 3:45 p.m. at the residence after a six-month illness.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Collier-Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Burke; three daughters, Mrs. Nora Wetzell, Gadsden; Mrs. Douglas Buck, Anniston, and Mrs. Lillie Mae Payne, Charleston, S.C.; one son, Ed Burke, Longview, Tex.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Burke, a retired cemetery employee with the city of Gadsden, was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a resident of Gadsden from the past 35 years.
