FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. MARY JAY CONDUCTED TODAY

Aged Lady Passed away Saturday at Home of Her Daughter at Rome

Mrs. Mary Jay, 85 years old, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Fitch, at Rome, Saturday afternoon, after an illness of about a month. Mrs. Jay fell about a month ago, breaking her hip. With her advanced years the frail body could not withstand the shock and she passed away quietly after her long suffering. She leaves five children who will miss her presence among them. They are: Edward, Oscar and John Scarff, of Rome; Mrs. Almeda Shumaker of Wayland and Mrs. Laura Fitch with whom she made her home.
The funeral services were conducted this morning at the Baptist church in Rome by Rev. A. L. Schuey. Interment was made in Green Mound cemetery.
