He served in the 1761 campaign about Fort Edwards, Ticonderoga, and Crown Point. He was a veteran of the American Revolution, a sergeant in Lt James Bartlett's company in 1775, and as 2nd Lieutenant in Capt. Elijah Cranson's 11th company of the 5th New Hampshire Regiment.

Son of Lemuel Bryant of Middleboro,MA (c1718-1812). The name of Zebulon's mother is not known, but she died, a widow, at Middleboro,MA on Nov 19,1819.

He married, first, on Sep 18,1767 at Bridgewater,MA, Mary Conant.

He married, second, at Ashfield,MA in Jul 1810, Mary (Cook) West.

Children(by first marriage): Ruth Bryant taylor, Naomi Bryant Smith, Nathan Bryant, Lemuel Bryant, Lydia Bryant Ranney, William Bryant, Abigail "Nabby" Bryant Cranson, and Lucy Bryant Alden.
