Irvin R. Ball died yesterday at his residence, 2917 South K street, at the age of 63 years. [Grand Army of the Republic] He is survived by a widow and six children. Mr. Ball was a stationary engineer and had been latterly employed at pumping station B of the Tacoma water department. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and will be under the auspices of the G. A. R.

--
Father was Samuel Ball (b: c.1806 in Penn.; d: c.1868 in Linn co., Kansas). Irvin R. Ball's mother is currently unknown (though multiple records indicate his mother was born in Ireland, and likely died c.1843 in Penn.). His full sister was Hannah L. (Ball) Quinn (1840-1899).

Married Millie M. Stukey (b: 1850 in Ridge, Van Wert co., Ohio; d: 1948 in Tacoma, Wash.) on 17 Sep 1868 in Linn co., Kansas.

Irvin and Millie moved to Tacoma (from Linn co., Kansas, via Oregon) c.1885. Together they had 6 children, 5 of whom survived in to adulthood: daughter Jessie H. (Ball) (Fazon) Feeney, and sons: Samuel E., Lace F., Gordon Bennett, and Irvin Stukey Ball.
