He married Luella Harmon in 1918 at Fort Pierre...
His wife died in 1955.
In the late 1950s he married Ellen McGuire. They lived at Midland. She died in February 1985.
Rank has lived with his daughter in Pueblo since 1981.

Survivors include two sons Thurman Rank of Rapid City and Jack Rank Jr. of Casper, Wyo.; two daughters Ramona Gunnare of Delmont and Barbara Cozetto of Pueblo, eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
