He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church while in Butler. He had been employed by the T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Company for about ten years before his retirement.
Surviving are two sons, John of Fresno, Calif., Richard of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, George Kemper of Butler and Joseph of Hendersonville, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A sister and a brother preceded him in death.
