Joe Makowski, 52, a farmer residing on route three, Loup City, passed away early Friday morning at a hospital in this city (Grand Island), where he had been receiving treatment since September 5th. Suffering from pernicious anemia, Mr. Makowski's condition was very serious when he was brought to the hospital here, and two days ago a blood transfusion was performed, a son giving the necessary blood. For a short time following the transfusion he appeared to rally but only temporarily. His wife, Mrs. Mary Makowski, and other members of the family were at his bedside when the end came. The body was taken overland to Loup City, Friday, where funeral services and burial will take place.
