"Former Vincennes resident Christine (Gilmore) Shouse, 90, Terre Haute, died at 9:47 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 1998, at the Royal Oaks Healthcare Center.
Born June 8th, 1907, in Monroe City, she was the daughter of Samuel and Mamie (Shouse) Gilmore.
Shouse retired as a sales clerk at the Gimbel-Bond Co., in Vincennes. She was a member of Monroe City United Methodist Church, and attended Union Christian Church in Terre Haute.
Her husband, Carroll E. Shouse, died in 1975. Two brothers and a sister are also deceased.
Survivors include a son, James W. Shouse of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Jerry C. Baker of Terre Haute, a brother, Richard Gilmore of Monroe City; a sisterm Bonie M. Mize of Monroe City; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute, Mark Grayless and Jerry Dusenberry officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in Mount Zion Cemetery near Monroe City.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
