Roscoe Valentine Laff was born Feb. 14, 1894 in Beloit, Mitchell Co., Kansas. He was the first born child of James Empron Laff and Laura Delphina Shreve.
On October 26, 1916 he married Lola Dell (Clark) and had two girls: Martha Louise and Helen Frances. He worked as a salesman and later for Prudential insurance and in the 1930s was a book keeper at a tire shop.
In the late 1920s after his children were born, Roscoe and family moved to Taft, Kern, California. He later died on Dec. 14, 1937 in Chula Vista, San Diego, California.
