MOUNT VERNON --John G. Allbright, 68, died at 7:57 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
He was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Ind., the son of Albert and Fina (Bell) Allbright. He retired from G.E. Plastics in 1997, where he worked in research and development. John also served in the U.S. Marines.
John is survived by his wife, Linda (McGrew) Allbright; two daughters, Beth Anne Allbright of Mount Vernon, and Patricia Lynn Bauer and her husband, Randy, of Evansville; a stepson, Kenneth Glen Loy of Texas; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Lee McLeod of Bristol, Connecticut; two brothers, Victor Allbright of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Steve Allbright of Mount Vernon, Ind.; four sisters, Barbara Grabert of Wadesville, Jan Seitz of Mount Vernon, Rebecca Reynolds of Mount Vernon and Amy Shaw of Evansville. There are six grandchildren, Misty Dawn Kueber, Dustin and wife, April Bauer and John N. Bauer, Courtney and Caitlyn Keller, Randall Loy of Jordanton, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Spencer Bauer and Alyvia Bauer.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 E. Fourth St., Mount Vernon, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery, with a military service by the American Legion, Owen-Dunn Post 5, Mount Vernon, Ind.
