Morgan Burke Dies At Home This Morning

Morgan Burke, 64, well-known grain inspector for the state department of agriculture and labor, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home 138 Third Street. Mr. Burke had been ill with a heart ailment for the past three months.

Mr. Burke was born Aug. 24, 1879, at Gratiot, Wisconsin. At an early age he moved to LeMars, Iowa with his parents and grew to manhood there. He later moved to North Dakota and lived in several cities in that state. He was an elevator manager and superintendent for the Imperial Elevator Co. of Minneapolis.

Mr. Burke married Miss Mabel Van Dusen, April 8, 1917, at Spokane, Wash. In 1917 the Burkes moved to Montana and resided at Great Falls, Glasgow and Havre, making their residence here since 1933. Since 1937 Mr. Burke has served as a grain inspector with the state department of agriculture and labor. In his position he knew many farmers and elevator men with whom he was very popular.

In addition to the widow, the deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jess Claraellen Hartland, of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Darrel Gudmundson of Bozeman; a brother, Frank Burke of Waterloo, Iowa; and three sisters, Miss Alice Burke of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Elizabeth Strong of Hawarden, Iowa, and Mrs. Roy Heighton of Emmetsburg, Iowa.
