San Gabriel- Funeral arrangements were being made today for Robert W. Friedrichs, 19 year old Navy Air Cadet, of 404 Milton Drive, who was killed in a Texas plane crash Thursday.
Details of the accident were disclosed today by the Navy following notification of his next of kin.
Friedrichs was killed along with an instructor when their plane crashed on a routine flight from Christi Naval Air Station. The crash is being investigated.
He was flying with Lieut. (jg) Raymond.R. Couture, USN son of Mr and Mrs. A.M. Couture, of Lynn, Mass.
Cadet Friedrichs, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Friedrichs of San Gabriel, would have celebrated his 20th birthday Sunday. An Alhambra High School graduate, he had been in the Navy since August 1944.
